Getting my mind off work…way off work

So after a really long work week (multiple 12+ hour days) which somehow extended into the weekend when our BlueArc decided to lose a controller, I figured it was time to have some fun when Heather came over Saturday night. We’ve both been working really hard so it was nice to kick off our shoes, put on a pair of heels, and get wicked crazy. Marshall even got in on the fun (not the heels part). =)

Things started off innocently enough with me deciding to do some pilates crunches on the ball while we watched a re-run of I Love New York 2 (don’t you judge me). I then tired of doing my own exercises and challenged Heather to balance on the ball.

Ok, so she can balance on a ball (her feet look awfully close to the ground though). I mean she did take years of ballet so you’d think she’d have pretty good posture and balance. But how about Marshall? Oh, just take a look for yourself. =)

Awesome! I thought it was pretty cool that he let me take some pictures of him being silly so just for that, I won’t post the picture of him hitting his head on the back wall after sliding off the ball. Wow, what a nice wife I am. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Of course, I will post this picture. I call it “Stupid Human Tricks #498.” Very impressive Marshall. Very impressive indeed. =)

And with that, we’ll kick off the featured events of the evening sponsored by Absolut Vodka and coffeine. Brace yourself. =)

First up, a “Whose Calves are Stronger” competition.

Heather definitely has the longer, leaner legs but I think I have her beat for strength (probably not but come on, what’s wrong with letting me think that). ๐Ÿ˜‰ And the fun doesn’t stop there. We’ve got a good old fashioned horse race to run but instead of horses, wer’re using dogs and instead of a race, we kind of just sat there while the dogs got irritated with us. I personally found this quite entertaining although I can’t say the same of Sierra and Lotus.

Because we didn’t actually ride the dogs anywhere, this competition was a draw. Heather gets bonus points for best riding posture although I think I should get some points for creativity (notice the pillow saddle on Lotus). =) After thoroughly humiliating my dogs, we decided to take to the runway in an “America’s Next Top Model” inspired walk-off.

Heather won this competition but what’s this? Where’s your other leg?

Heather/Peg Leg

Uh oh! Someone has a new nickname. I shall call you “Peg Leg” from now on. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Yes, Peg Leg…quite so, quite so…

Ok, methinks it is probably time for bed. Marshall that sound good to you?

Marshmellow

I’ll take that as a yes. Goodnight everybody… =)
