Me little brother turns 24….

Jenny, Jeffery, Heather

Has it been another year already? I can barely believe that my little brother Jeffery is now 24 years old. Madness! Sheer madness I tell you! =)

Well to celebrate his special day, the whole family got together at my parents house for a delicious dinner (spaghetti, garlic bread, barbecued chicken and chocolate cake) and about seven renditions of “Happy Birthday.” Some might say singing Happy Birthday seven times is excessive and….they’d probably be right but you know what, who cares. We like to sing and my little brother was turning 24 so I think it was justified. 😉

So who all was there? Well there was…

Jeffery and Mandy Heather and Jeriah Grandma Hollfelder and Dad

And then of course Meemers, Marshall and me. We started out with dinner and then after some antics in the kitchen (Dad air-kicking Mom…geez, I wonder where I get it) we moved on to cake and ice cream.

Here comes the cake “Happy Birthday to you… happy birthday to you… happy birthday dear Jeffery, Happy birthday to you!” (I stand corrected, 8 times)

The cake was awesome (chocolate w/ banana slices and whip cream frosting) and so tasty. My mom is an incredible cook. =) Too bad I didn’t pick up any of those skills. Homemade macaroni and cheese is about as good as it gets for me. 😉

After dinner and cake, I took a few more pictures and then Jeffery opened his presents. Oh and who could forget the special appearance of Homer Simpson. Uh-oh Jeffery, I think Mandy’s taken a shine for our favorite animated television dad. Doh!

Looking good Jeffery. Feeling good Jenny. –Trading Places

We were hoping to go bowling after dinner as that is one of Jeffery’s favorite hobbies but unfortunately, we didn’t make reservations and it was league night so we missed out on that. Perhaps some other time. Despite the change in plans, we still had a great time.

<sappy> I’m so proud of my little brother. Jeffery and I used to be really close when we were kids but had kind of grown apart a bit when he went through his late teens. I am SO happy that we’re finally reconnecting. I really enjoyed talking with him and think he’s grown up a lot. He’s my little brother and I love him. Happy birthday lil’ bro. I love you. =) </sappy>
