My brother Jeffery works at my dad’s construction company California Engineering Contractors driving rigs and operating heavy machinery. Apparently he had an extremely close call at work today and after seeing the pictures, I’m thinking he’s pretty lucky to be alive. It went down something like this.
Jeffery had to move some heavy beams with a loader and didn’t have the right extension to be able to reach all the way in back so like many others before him, he improvised. This involved attaching a nylon sling to the beams and then backing the loader up to try and drag the beams into a better position. That’s when the sling snapped and the bridge clamp came flying back right at his head.
Jeffery acted fast and was able to put his gloved hands in front of his face but couldn’t escape some nasty glass cuts to his face and ears.

That's a middle finger. Apparently nearly getting killed makes one a bit irritable. After recovering from the shock I think he realized how lucky he was to be alive. Our family is pretty grateful too. =)
Chalk that one up to experience. Let’s be more careful out there Jeffery. I still need you to install my new stereo. 😉 Just kidding Lil’ Brudda. Be safe though. =)
