A few months ago my sister decided that she wanted to rescue a cat to give to my mom since my mom’s cat had passed away about a year ago. At first I wasn’t sure about her plan because I didn’t know if my mom would really want to just have a cat thrown in her lap but I’ve got to admit, Heather has brought a number of awesome pets into the family. First there was Foxy (most awesome dog ever), then there was Little Girl for my parents followed by Leykis and Katie for my brother. Now she wanted to try her hand at picking the perfect kitten for my mom. If anyone could pull it off, it was Heather. =)
Heather checked out numerous animal rescue displays at pet shops and the SPCA. She finally found a kitten that matched what my mom was looking for, a calico, long-haired female kitten. Success!
Next she had to figure out a way to give my mom the cat. After considering multiple options Heather finally settled on having my mom come over to her house on the way home from the ranch to see how my mom would react to the cat. If she liked the kitten Heather would give it to her. If she didn’t, well, she didn’t have to worry about that because my mom absolutely loved her. =)

Aw, I think they're going to be very happy. I'm glad my mom has a new kitty to love. =)
Patchwork is much older and bigger now and looks just like my mom’s last cat Muzzy. The resemblance is actually pretty uncanny. I haven’t seen Patchwork lately, she hides under my mom’s bed whenever I come over, but it sounds like my mom is still completely crazy about her. What a lucky cat. =)
