Yeah, so I finally got off my butt today and did something about my poor neglected front yard! =) This is scary but since it looks so much better now, here are the before pictures.
Before
I know, scary right? It’s kind of amazing how bad our lawn got. At least with the weeds being as big as they were, it was easier to pull them out but still. After several failed attempts to pull the weeds by hand, I discovered a trick which involved using a shovel to dig into the root of the weed, parallel to the ground, and then just pluck the top of the weed out from the dirt. This was a pretty quick and effective method to remove the weeds but still required a good deal of effort to do.
After
All in all, it was a very productive Saturday with activities including:
- Weeding the lawn and flower beds eliminating 80% of the weeds. I’ll have to take on the remaining 20% tomorrow with the help of the weed eater.
- Edging the lawn.
- Pruning the trees.
- Watering the lawn.
- Taking before and after pictures so I could post to my website. =)
Hopefully I’ll have more photos and stories to post tomorrow. I’m planning on taking on the backyard and that’s way more work than the front yard. Right now I’m going to just relax, watch a James Bond and do some crafts…or not. I’m thinking I’ll take the dogs for a walk. Probably a better activity considering that I just blew all that workout on pizza and Baskin Robbins. =P
